F.A.O. Phillips & Associates was established in 1970 by the principal consultant, late engineer Foluseke A. O. Phillips, after retiring from the Nigerian Railway Corporation as the general manager, to provide consultancy services in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering.

Engineer Lanre Phillips was educated at Igbobi College, Lagos, the Loughborough University of Technology, the U.K. where he obtained a Bachelor of Technology (Aeronautical Engineering and Design). In 1973, and Imperial College of Science and Technology, London, England, where he obtained a Master of Science (Operation Research & Management Studies). And Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) in 1974. He is a Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.
He was an operational research officer at the British Steel Corporation, Strip Mill Division, from October 1974 to September 1976. Upon his return to Nigeria in October 1976 and until 1978, he worked with Soboyejo Associates and F.A.O. Phillips & Associates.
He then started working full time with F.A.O Phillips & Associates as Project Manager and has built a formidable career.
Anthonio Aderinola Phillips is an astute business leader and technocrat with professional experience in developing and implementing business growth strategies, engineering process optimisation and operational effectiveness, and championing healthy financial decision making.
He has a BSc (Business Economics), an MSc (Development Finance), a PhD (Leadership /Community Development) and Executive Education (Owner Management Programme, Agribusiness Management Programme).
He is the CEO and Founder of Wavis Investment Ltd. He specialises in developing high-quality business strategies and plans and ensuring their alignment with short- and long-term objectives.
As well as leading and motivating subordinates to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing managerial team.
Lanre-Bamodu Eunice Odunayo started her engineering career with Nigeria telecommunication company (NITEL) 2004-2005 Oyingbo Exchange Lagos, before she joined FAO Phillips in 2006 as a Youth Corpe to serve her country. After her service, she was employed to kick start her career in building services engineering as a trainee engineer.
She has a B.Eng. Electrical & Electronics Engineering and MSc. Information Technology. She is a Member of International Facility Management Nigeria (IFMA), Member of Nigeria Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineer Nigeria, Member of Association of Consulting Engineers, and Corporate member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (28650).
She participated in many projects, designing electrical and mechanical services and rendering detailed design report preparation of tender document and tender analysis and more.
Engineer E. E. Sogunro was educated at the University of Lagos, 1969. He obtained B.sc. Hon. Mechanical Engineering. He also attended various courses and seminars both in Nigeria and overseas on air conditioning, mechanical ventilation, lifts, automatic controls, refrigerator steam piping and boilers, hot and cold water services with drainages.
He worked with Soboyejo Associates, one of the pioneering consultants for eleven years as project assistant, project engineer and project co-ordinator respectively. He was responsible for calculations designs, estimating drawing, and writing of specifications, supervision, checking and testing of all mechanical and electrical engineering equipment.
Since 1980 till now he has been a principal partner of Mecholet Engineering Associates, a firm of Mechanical and Electrical Consulting Engineering and an associate partner of F.A.O Phillips & Associates.
Upon taking a brief, F.A.O Phillips & Associates hold discussions with the client/ architect to ascertain the wishes of the client. A preliminary report is then prepared and submitted to the client out-lining our interpretation of the client's wishes and seeking confirmation that our interpretation is correct.
The preliminary report also highlights the problems posed by the client’s wishes, the methods we propose regarding the project on the agreed time schedule.
A detailed program is agreed upon, with the client at this stage, and there-after, we run the project on the agreed time schedule. Progress reports are submitted to the client regularly.
We use the project team concept in the execution of our projects. A group of highly skilled members of staff are organised under a project manager to undertake the project with support as needed in certain disciplines from associates and other specialists, etc. In order to meet the specific needs of the particular project.
The project manager provides the link between the client or architect and the project team. He holds regular meetings with the client/architect to provide the client with the opportunity to review the work at different stages of completion and to alert the client to problems that require the client’s inputs for their solution.
Review teams are set up internally with the principal consultant and other key staff and for short-term experts to give technical direction to any project to ensure that the client’s wishes are satisfied and also that the high level of technical excellence that we're committed to attaining.
